Conscious Music Agency
Hello
My name is Rich Rees, I'm originally from Los Angeles, CA and have worked in various fields of the music industry for over thirty years. I started my music career as a drummer in the early nineties and by 1998 I owned and operated a very successful independent talent agency called Earthtone Music Inc. in Beverly Hills, CA.

My Story
I grew up in Southern California and started playing the drums in rock bands at the age of 15. What started out in my parent's garage ended up being a life long love of music, and ultimately a successful music career. In 1995 I landed my first industry job working for the classic rock band, Ambrosia. I was hired as a drum tech, which led to the tour manager position, and ultimately to becoming their exclusive booking agent. After a few years of very hard work, learning the business, many trials and errors, and just plain discipline and persistence, I decided this would be my new career path. soon after I would launch my own booking agency. Luckily many of our friends from the same classic rock era needed an agent at the time, and gave me a shot. By 1998 my first booking agency, Earthtone Music Inc. was conceived, and established with a small but solid roster of name bands and musicians including, Ambrosia, Gary Wright, Colin Hay of Men At Work, Pablo Cruise, Firefall, Jim Messina and Dave Davies of the Kinks. By the year 2000 I was booking hundreds of shows through-out the US and Canada and some pretty amazing tours to keep all of my acts very busy. The roster kept growing and by 2005 I added some legendary UK New Wave pioneers like Human League, ABC, English Beat, Thomas Dolby and The Fixx. I also established myself in the Celtic Rock world with Irish legends The Young Dubliners. By the end of the decade I owned one of the most successful Indie agencies in the country. In addition to booking the artists on my roster, I also expanded into concert producing and created shows like the 80's retro night at the Hollywood Bowl, which sold over 20,000 tickets, and the summer concert series at Pershing Square in Downtown LA. In addition, I began talent buying for several venues, festivals and private events to secure major touring artists. Earthtone Music became a highly reputable and well respected booking agency in Los Angeles.
